Visas
We have prepared a form to submit a request for an invitation letter for VISA purpopses. Once you submit the form, an admin will look at it, and we will share a VISA letter with you, personalized, with the information you provide in the form. An email will be sent about the shared doc (a Google doc); you may need to check your spam filter if you don't see it in a couple of days after you sent in the form.
Transportation
- Information about taxis, limos, and rideshares to/from Edmonton International Airport (YEG).
- Both Uber and Lyft operate in Edmonton.
- Route 747 bus service runs 7 days a week (4:10am–12:30am) between the Century Park Transit Centre and YEG.
- The LRT (subway) has stops at both the Century Park Transit Centre and the University of Alberta campus.

Wi-Fi access
To connect to wi-fi, use the Guest@UA network. You can also use the Eduroam network if you are affiliated with a university. For more information, see this page.
Venues
COLT will be held on the University of Alberta campus in the CCIS North Lecture Theatres, room numbers 1-430 and 1-440. Please enter through the doors on the east side facing Parking Lot E. The other doors into CCIS will be locked on Sunday and Monday.
The keynote talks and sessions ending with "-1" will be in CCIS 1-440, while sessions ending with "-2" will be CCIS 1-430.
Food and coffee
Snacks, coffee, and lunch will be provided during the breaks in the schedule. There will also be free espresso available from the coffee truck parked outside the building from 8 am to 1:30 pm every day of the conference. Just show your COLT badge!
Poster session
The poster session will take place in the two lecture rooms (CCIS 1-430 and 1-440) and in the open areas outside. Please see this diagram for the locations of the posters, and place your poster according to your session. For example, first day session A talk one will be 1A1. Note that four posters will be sharing one board.

Note: Getting food at the university is not great on the weekend or on Canada Day.

- 109 St has some restaurants, and Whyte Ave (= 82 Ave) has more (e.g., good ice cream, even with European standards).
Canada Day
July 1st is Canada Day; there will be fireworks at 11pm. See this page for details.
Banquet
The conference banquet (July 2nd, 6:30pm local time) will be at The Westin Edmonton (map).
- The easiest way to get to the banquet is via public transport, using the LRT (local metro). Get on the train at the University Station, get off at Central Station (directions). The journey total estimated time is 20 minutes.
- The banquet will start at 6:30pm with welcome drinks; COLT attendees will receive two drink tickets, and there is also a cash bar.
- The dinner is buffet style and will start at 7pm.
- There will be a live improv show by Rapid Fire Theatre at 8:30pm.
