Call for Workshops, Tutorials, and Community Events at COLT 2026
Following last year’s newly-introduced tradition, COLT 2026 will feature Workshops, Tutorials, and Community Events! The conference will take place in San Diego, USA, June 29–July 3, 2026.We invite proposals for these in-person events, all to be held on June 29. We are excited to receive your ideas to enrich COLT’s program! Please submit proposals by May 7 (AoE) via email (see below). Some logistical details are still being finalized, so the guidelines below should be treated as flexible. Proposed presenters do not need to be confirmed at submission time, though indicating confirmed or tentative presenters is still helpful.
TUTORIALS
Tutorials are intended to educate the community and invite colleagues to get excited about a well-defined topic or set of tools. Tutorials are expected to last approximately two hours (e.g., two one-hour sessions with a break). Alternative formats may be considered.Tutorial proposals should be approximately 2–3 pages and include:
- Title
- Names, affiliations, email addresses, and short biographies of the organizers
- A short abstract (one paragraph)
- The planned schedule, content, and proposed presenters
- Goals and significance of the tutorial
- Target audience and any prerequisite knowledge
- (Optional) Information on previous versions (slides may be included as appendices)
- Submit to colt2026community@gmail.com with subject line [COLT 2026 Tutorial Proposal].
WORKSHOPS
Workshops are intended to facilitate focused discussion of emerging research directions in an interactive setting. Workshop activities may include invited talks, contributed talks, panels, or other formats designed to encourage active discussion and exchange of ideas. Workshops are expected to last up to three hours, including a 30-minute break. Alternative formats may be considered.Workshop proposals should be approximately 2–3 pages and include:
- Title
- Names, affiliations, email addresses, and short biographies of the organizers
- A short abstract describing the theme and objectives
- A tentative schedule
- If applicable, a list of confirmed or tentative invited speakers
- For contributed content, a brief overview of the review process and timeline (we recommend notifications be sent by June 8)
- (Optional) Information on previous versions (link if available)
- Submit to colt2026community@gmail.com with subject line [COLT 2026 Workshop Proposal].
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Community events are intended to support interaction and engagement among participants (e.g., mentoring activities, panels, socials). Community events may vary in format and length: we suggest up to three hours, including a 30-minute break, though shorter events are encouraged.Community event proposals should be approximately 1–3 pages and include:
- Title
- Names, affiliations, email addresses, and short biographies of the organizers
- A description of the event’s theme and intended goals
- Target audience (generally open to all COLT participants)
- The planned schedule, content, and any proposed speakers or panelists
- (Optional) Information on previous versions (link if available)
